For the opening of the season, the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra is offering an exceptional concert directed by the great conductor Lorin Maazel.

In 1960, he became the youngest and the first American leader to direct the prestigious Bayreuth Festival and the first to be named Director of the Vienna Opera. His feeling for the sound alchemy along as his personality makes him one of the most inspiring chief of his time.

On the menu, the young pianist Olga Sheps will interpret Edvard Grieg’s Concerto pour piano. Written in the summer of 1868, the Concerto pour piano is the only piece Grieg ever completed and one of his most concertos in his entire piano repertoire.
