Christian Louboutin exhibition at the Grimaldi Forum: 37,000 visitors in 51 days!

01 septembre 2022

Unanimously acclaimed, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco's major summer event of 2022 will remain etched in our memories. Christian Louboutin, The Exhibition(ist) Chapter II -surprising, amazing ...explosive!

With this new subject in its programming, the Grimaldi Forum this year offered the public a celebration of art through the eyes of a contemporary creator, the wise and joyful Christian Louboutin. Far from the usual retrospective, the course of the exhibition was designed as a joyful odyssey through three decades of overflowing creativity, marked by curiosity for all cultures and all arts to be seen in the Espace Ravel, over 2000 m2 of astonishing pieces of craftsmanship and art of all types, by celebrated, as well as unknown artists -painting, sculpture, the performing arts, architecture, even cinema -and revealing the creator's many Monegasque inspirations, drawing in particular from the Oceanographic Museum and the New National Museum of Monaco.

 "A success!"

Sylvie Biancheri expressed her satisfaction upon the traditional great summer exhibition's assessment. "We may be delighted with such a result. It's 10% more than Giacometti last year, despite the very short exhibition this year compared to usual, due to an event calendar for business tourism picking up very early in September."

The great public reception as seen in the exhibition's Digital Visitor Book, the enthusiasm of the national and international press, as well as social networks, have largely contributed to the success of this exhibition. It welcomed more than 700 visitors daily on average, up to 1,800 people per day by the end of the exhibition, when word of mouth had achieved greater impact; visitors were mainly from Monaco and France, but also from abroad -mainly European visitors, especially Italians and English, as well as a general return of international clientele, in particular from the United States.

On the part of Francesco Grosoli, CEO of CMB Monaco, official and historical partner of the Grimaldi Forum, “This exhibition was full of elegance and originality. Our clients and prospects, who are great fans of creation and innovation, have broadly acclaimed it. The quality reflected our ambition in terms of patronage -contributing ever more and better to the cultural influence of the Principality!"

Inaugurated on July 7 by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, accompanied by His nephews and nieces and H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, the exhibition Christian Louboutin, The'Exhibition(ist), Chapter II, ran from July 9 to August 28, 2022. Curated by Olivier Gabet, Director of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, it was produced by the Grimaldi Forum Monaco in collaboration with Christian Louboutin and has benefited from the support of CMB Monaco, Mytheresa and Sotheby's.

The next major summer exhibitions at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco:
