A SEMINAR TO PROMOTE THE DECARBONIZATION OF MONACO

Government Counselor-Minister Céline Caron-Dagioni

On the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the White Paper on energy transition, the Monaco  Mission for the Energy Transition (MTE) organised a seminar on this topic.

Government Counselor-Minister Céline Caron-Dagioni launched the event by delivering the introductory speech.

The seminar had a dual purpose:

  • recall the work of the White Paper published in 2017 (https://transition-energetique.gouv.mc/La-transition-energetique-en-chiffres-et-en-mots/Le-Livre-Blanc-de-la-Transition- Energy), the actions implemented by the Prince's Government for 5 years, the actions in progress and planned until 2030;
  • offer workshops in sectoral sub-groups (sustainable health / sustainable economy (digital, finance, trade and industry) / sustainable building / sustainable neighborhood) to gather ideas for actions to be implemented so that Monaco achieves its pollution reduction objectives GHG emissions by 2030 and 2050.

The main Monegasque players in the fields of health, economy, energy, transport and mobility, waste, construction and sustainable cities were invited to the event. Many State Services also took part*.

As a reminder :

  • most of the actions implemented over the past 5 years by the Prince's Government have been carried out by the Department of Equipment, Environment and Urban Planning, whose skills are at the heart of energy transition: urban planning, building works , urban planning, mobility, etc.;
  • the MTE plays a role in coordinating and accelerating these public and private actions, in particular by steering the National Green Fund.
