the Tourist and Convention Authority creates a new cell and launches an action plan for more responsible tourism

Following the publication at the end of 2021 of the White Paper on Responsible Tourism and in order to continue the actions recommended in it, the Tourist and Convention Authority (MTA) has just created a CSR unit instead of its Responsible Tourism unit.

The MTA now faces new challenges taking into account Corporate Social Responsibility, but especially Social and Environmental Responsibilities.

The objective is to be more sustainable and fairer, and to help create an increasingly responsible destination.

The CSR unit's mission is therefore to create a framework to limit the negative effects and maximize the positive contribution of tourism.

To do this, the Tourist and Convention Authority has just validated a CSR action plan for the Destination based on 5 development axes

  • Raise awareness, training, engaging and building skills
  • Communicate and improve visibility
  • Control the environmental impacts of the destination
  • Strengthen tourism for all and by all
  • Measure actions

Actions will also be taken internally with the aim of improving the overall approach of the MTA.

CSR is a very broad field that is part of a continuous improvement process. The MTA adopts An approach that they wish to be collective, with the help of all the stakeholders, namely employees, visitors, partners and suppliers.
