An English soul singer from Burundi, accompanied by a resonant and flamboyant band, the Black Belts, J.P. Bimeni impresses with a voice reminiscent of the early days of Otis Redding and in which resonates the soul of Africa. With a foot-tapping guitar riff, screaming brass, gospel organ, unrelenting rhythms and that incredible, overwhelming voice, “Free Me”, J.P. Bimeni & The Black Belts’ new single sets the tone for this album. Between sensual soul ballads and unbridled funk jams, the orchestrations of the musical director Eduardo Martinez and the songwriter Marc Ibarz will lead us directly to 1960s clubs in which this soul held pride of place!
