On ne paie pas! On ne paie pas! is a great contemporary comedy. A militant, satirical play that Dario Fo and Franca Rame aim to anchor in the social and political events of their time.

It's a veritable theatrical "war machine", with a drollery that's quite unique in contemporary theater. Comic mechanics are pushed to their absurd extremes, dismantling human behavior and the dysfunctions of our Western societies. We find traces of the great comic writers, both theatrical (Aristophanes, Feydeau, commedia dell'arte) and cinematic (Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, Begnigni). These are just some of the references that the playwriting brings to life with great freedom!
