THE PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA OF MONTE-CARLO
Sat. 28th - Sun. 29th June 2014
The Lord of the Rings in Cine-Concert!
To close its season, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Monte-Carlo is offering a stunning cine-concert, the first part of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy, with nearly 250 performers on stage.
The film will be screened in its entirety on a giant screen in the background, subtitled in its original version with sounds effects, but without the musical score. The latter will be performed live (in perfect sync with the original soundtrack) by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Monte-Carlo, the choirs, and the singers.
The Lord of the Rings is one of the most celebrated works in the history of cinema, with 17 Oscars. By winning the “Best Music” Oscar, the original soundtrack composed by Howard Shore has become one of the most iconic pieces of music in cinema history.
