SOWETO GOSPEL CHOIR

Tues. 3rd December 2013

The Soweto Gospel Choir has been performing worldwide, with ever increasing success, since 2002 and today is recognised as one of the world's best choirs.

Comprising 20 of South Africa's top gospel singers, the Soweto Gospel Choir delivers a show that is breathtaking in its grace and beauty. Its repertoire is wonderfully varied and as colourful as its lovely costumes, ranging from gospel standards through international hits to traditional South African songs and Zulu dances. The choir's pure voices do full justice and more to every number, whether singing a cappella or accompanied by the four gifted musicians, while the talented dancers exude an irrepressible energy that takes this extremely polished show to further heights.

The Soweto Gospel Choir, whose patron is Nobel Peace Prize winner Archbishop Desmond Tutu, has met with tremendous success and won many international awards, including two prestigious Grammy Awards in the USA (2007 and 2008) for its albums Blessed and African Spirit.

Since it was formed, the Soweto Gospel Choir has triumphed in more than 20 countries and performed with the greatest musicians, including Céline Dion, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, Peter Gabriel, Queen, Alicia Keys, Bono, Cat Stevens, Annie Lennox and Johnny Clegg.

Now celebrating its first decade, the Soweto Gospel Choir is to tour France for the first time. The singers' beautiful voices plus the dancers' impressive energy make this show a truly unique experience, one that has already thrilled the hearts and souls of 7 million spectators around the world. An absolute must in the run-up to Christmas.
