Since 2008, the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s awards have been presented to individuals who have made an exceptional commitment towards saving our planet.
On September 30th, 2013, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince will honour several international key figures and organizations for their exemplary action in favour of the environment and the protection of the planet, in each of the Foundation’s three priority fields of activity: climate change, preservation of biodiversity, access to water and fight against desertification.
The 2013 Award Ceremony will also be the opportunity of the world première screening of Luc Jacquet's latest movie. Luc Jacquet is worldwide known for his film "March of the Penguins" which won an Oscar for the Best Documentary Feature in 2006.
As a reminder, after Alain Hubert, Dr Jane Goodall and Sunita Narain in 2008, Professor Edward Osborne Wilson, Ms Marina Silva and Mr Pan Yue in 2009, Professor James Lovelock, Dr Peter Hamilton Raven and Professor Malin Falkenmark in 2010, Professor Gretchen Daily, Professor Andràs Szollosi-Nagy and Professor David Suzuki in 2011, Jean Jouzel, Sir David Attenborough and Stockholm Water Institute (SIWI) in 2012, the 2013 winners will be presented with a trophy created specifically for the occasion.
