THE 22nd MONTE-CARLO FILM FESTIVAL DE LA COMÉDIE
A celebration of laughter, talent, and international cinema, 12 to 15 November 2025 at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco

For its 22nd edition, the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie will once again bring together some of the most prominent figures in film, television, and entertainment. An international jury composed of acclaimed personalities will evaluate the competing works.

Created and directed by Ezio Greggio, the event will take place from 12 to 15 November 2025 at the prestigious Grimaldi Forum Monaco.

This year, the Jury will be chaired by renowned Italian actress and filmmaker Claudia Gerini (Sono pazzo di Iris Blond, Viaggio di nozze, Diverso da chi?, Tapirulan), winner of the David di Donatello Award for Best Supporting Actress in Ammore e Malavita. Gerini boasts an outstanding international career, with unforgettable performances in films such as La Sconosciuta by Giuseppe Tornatore and L’Ordine del Tempo by Liliana Cavani.

Honorary President of the Festival, the legendary actor Franco Nero – an icon of Italian and international cinema (Django, Django Unchained, John Wick: Chapter 2) – will also grace this edition. Nero has worked with some of the greatest European directors, including Luis Buñuel, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Claude Chabrol, Sergei Bondarciuk, Michael Cacoyannis, Elio Petri, and Marco Bellocchio. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for Camelot and was awarded the title of Knight of the Italian Republic by the President of Italy.

Among the distinguished jury members are the versatile Spanish actress Teresa Riott (El Inmortal), known for her international success in Netflix’s Valeria, and the acclaimed American actor, director, and producer Daniel McVicar (The Fourth Planet, One Way Ticket to the Moon, Ladro di Stelle Cadenti), famous for his role as Clarke Garrison in The Bold and the Beautiful.

With such an experienced and diverse jury, this edition promises a meticulous and inspired selection of films, highlighting creativity, originality, and artistic excellence in comedy.

Under the creative and artistic direction of Ezio Greggio, the Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie celebrates its 22nd anniversary, further solidifying its status as the world’s leading festival dedicated exclusively to comedy.

Once again hosted at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, the Festival will offer an exceptional programme of film screenings, masterclasses, and encounters with some of the most beloved figures from international, Italian, and French cinema.

The highlight of the week will be the Gala Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 15 November, featuring a special live performance by the Gipsy Kings Way by Pablo Reyes, the new generation of the legendary Gipsy Kings, performing their most iconic hits. More special guests will be announced soon, promising an event full of emotion, glamour, and surprises.

The Festival aims to promote and celebrate all forms of comedy, through both competitive and non-competitive screenings, giving well-deserved visibility to a genre adored by audiences yet often overlooked by critics. Thanks to the dedication of Ezio Greggio and the late Mario Monicelli, co-founder of the Festival, comedy has earned renewed recognition — even within prestigious festivals such as Cannes, Rome, Turin, and Venice.

Following the great success of previous editions, the Short Comedy Award returns this year, spotlighting short films that make audiences laugh and think. This competition welcomes directors, actors, and producers eager to share their sharp, original, and vibrant storytelling.

The Monte-Carlo Film Festival de la Comédie is organized in collaboration with EFG Bank (Monaco) and held under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and the Embassy of Italy.
