MOGHADAM : PERSIAN CARPETS

Thurs. 22nd - Sun. 25th September 2011

Based in the Principality of Monaco since 1977, Alexander Moghadam conveys his passion for Persian carpets by means of unending luxurious exhibitions throughout the world.

Having started his career in Frankfurt, his first five carpet galleries were opened in Germany.

Gallery Moghadam Monaco was inaugurated in September 1977 with the presence of H.S.H. Princess Grace of Monaco who highly appreciated the beauty as well as the craftsmanship of the collection.

Since then, Alexander Moghadam has obtained many awards, and in 2004 he was named "Official Supplier of H.S.H. Rainier III the Sovereign Prince Rainier III of Monaco".

Thus, a cultural and commercial bridge was established between Monaco and Iran.

The legend of the oriental carpet has survived for centuries, travelling far and wide. Whether practical or decorative, simple or richly crafted, it remains in a way, the heart of a home and the expression of a certain "art de vivre".

Every carpet tells a story with its own language and rules. Each like a poem reveals itself in different and, sometimes surprising ways. The famous painter Delacroix once wrote: "the most beautiful paintings I have seen were some Persian carpets".
