This passionate and feisty Carmen, reinvented by Johan Inger has received standing ovations throughout the world and earned the Swedish choreographer a “Benois de la Danse” in 2016.
To meet the challenge of taking on a legend so rooted in Spanish culture, Johan Inger chose to reveal his heroine through the eyes of a child, enveloping the obscure swirls of seduction and violence in mystery.
