THE MONTE-CARLO BALLETS

Wed. 20th - Sun. 24th April 2011

Maillot, Inger and Greco, a creative trio

"Sewn shoulder, open mouth, broken heart" is the (translated) title of the piece of music that composer Marc Monnet, who is also the Printemps des Arts festival's artistic director, has written specially for a choreographic composition by Jean-Christophe Maillot, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo's director and choreographer.

These evenings exuding rich and diverse energies also showcase two further, eagerly awaited, new creations, one by Swedish choreographer Johan Inger, who thrilled Nuits de la Danse audiences with Walking Mad and his rereading of Boléro, then one by Italian choreographer Emio Greco, his first piece for the Ballets de Monte-Carlo dancers since his success with Paradisio during the Principality's Centenary of the Ballets Russes celebrations.
