54TH MONTE-CARLO TELEVISION FESTIVAL
Sat. 7th - Wed. 11th June 2014
With HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco as Honorary President, the 54th Monte-Carlo Television Festival is set to be a total must for all TV fans and television industry professionals.
As usual a full programme of VIP events – preview screenings, series launches, autograph sessions, chances to meet international stars, prestigious soirées etc – is planned in that magical atmosphere that the Festival creates every year for its public.
With its unique competition that pits TV programmes from all over the world against each other to win a Golden Nymph award, the Festival is firmly established as the essential event for the whole television industry. This year's Monte-Carlo Television Festival will pay a special tribute to American producer Jerry Bruckheimer, one of the greatest in the history of television and cinema, who will be presented with a prestigious Honorary Golden Nymph for his lifetime achievements. To Bruckheimer we owe such TV series as the CSI franchise, Without a Trace, Cold Case, Dark Blue, The Amazing Race that has won nine Emmy Awards, and the Hostages series, while his films have starred some of cinema's biggest names: Tom Cruise (Top Gun and Days of Thunder), Sean Connery and Nicolas Cage (The Rock), Bruce Willis (Armageddon) and Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean), to name but those.
Evening gowns and tuxedos will throng the red carpet at the opening and closing ceremonies, and once again international TV stars will pose for the public to take memorable souvenir photos.
