ALBERTO GIACOMETTI - A RETROSPECTIVE. LE MARVELLOUS REALITY
From July 3 to August 29, 2021
Organised by the Grimaldi Forum Monaco in collaboration with the Giacometti Foundation, this exhibition is in line with the great monographs of artists that have already been presented at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, such as Dali, Picasso, Bacon and Warhol.
This is one of the greatest retrospectives ever dedicated to this major 20th century artist, with 230 works presented over 2,500 m², with a large number of masterpieces as well as certain works that have rarely or never travelled.
The exhibition's layout, designed by curator Emilie Bouvard, Director of Collections and Scientific Programme at the Giacometti Foundation, and scenographer William Chatelain, Head of Space Studies and Design at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, offers a complete view of the artist's abundant creations. It shows the sculptor, cartoonist and painter throughout all off his periods, as well as the sensitive man with his wonder for reality and all the small, trivial things of everyday life.
