Thursday, April 25th, Salle Garnier, Monte-Carlo Opera director, Jean-Louis Grinda, unveiled the 2013-2014 programming, on the occasion of the traditional press conference.
This year again, the season will begin early in the calendar compared to the traditional opening of the Monaco National Day. From October 24, will be donated to the Garnier Opera "Amelia al Ballo" and "The Telephone", two works by Gian Carlo Menotti, followed by a concert with mezzo-soprano Joyce Didonato November 13, and finally 19 but also 22 and 24 November in the Salle des Princes at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco, "Das Rheingold", the famous prologue to Wagner's tetralogy "Der Ring des Nibelungen". "This new production promises a great two-hour show, served by a stunning descriptive music and a happy ending of circumstance "says Jean-Louis Grinda.
The program is rich in innovations also includes the performances of Placindo Domingo as conductor, Juan Diego Florez, Max Emanuel Cencic, Ramon Vargas and Ludovic Tezier.
