A dream of the future
Codex Atlanticus. Behind this name lies one of the most important collections of writings and drawings by the great Leonardo da Vinci. This precious and mysterious album conserved in Milan's Biblioteca Ambrosiana contains more than 1200 of the genius's drawings.
For 15 years, expert Giovanni Piumati at Italy's prestigious Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei worked with unstinting passion to transcribe this magnificent Code in its entirety, so making all its drawings and writings comprehensible to everyone. A limited number of copies of them have been printed on special paper for institutions and scholars, who more than four centuries on are able to study in depth the intellectual processes of one of the Italian Renaissance's greatest protagonists.
