Monaco makes a commitment against deforestation, the Grimaldi Forum too...
To mark the launch in Monaco for the International Year of Forests in 2011, proclaimed by the United Nations, the Foundation Prince Albert II of Monaco has reiterated, during a press conference held Monday, February 7 in the Novotel Monte Carlo, its global commitment to fight against deforestation. This was an opportunity for the President, HSH Prince Sovereign, recalled the actions supported by the Foundation for a year now, including the "All together against deforestation" jointly promoted by the Grimaldi Forum Monaco and the Tourist Authority of the Principality. Through the flagship example of the Center of Social Excellence for the Forests of the Congo Basin, it aims to raise the tourism business with responsible forest management and use of certified wood.
