THURSDAY LIVE SESSIONS - THEO LAWRENCE & THE HEARTS

In this underground room in the southern suburbs, in the middle of cables, these live young musicians do not count the hours. They invent what they want to hear; both connected to the past and connected to the opening of a future which invites itself, like a roll of the dice, in a series of chords. Record collectors, but above all children of the Internet and archaeologists of blues and soul, these enthusiasts have spent years immersing themselves in all available sounds. Theo Lawrence & The Hearts crystallizes its influences with modernity and elegance. The band produces soulful and direct music, combining the emotional sincerity of R’n’B, the storytelling of Country Music, and the primitive force of Rock & Roll. You may already have met them on the stages of major French festivals (Printemps de Bourges, Francofolies de La Rochelle, Rock-en-Seine, etc.) or heard their first single “Heaven to Me” on the radio. After a first 45T which was a hit in the Spring of 2016, Theo Lawrence and The Hearts: Olivier Viscat, Louis-Marin Renaud, Thibaut L. Rooster and Nevil Bernard have released an EP in late 2016. This disque, as a tender K.O., will seduce fans of Al Green and the Wu-Tang Clan. It is aimed at soul lovers and bleeding hearts. The interpretation by Theo Lawrence, a young 21-year old French Canadian, is startling. The alchemy of the Hearts arises from the meeting of this hard-hitting voice and of the sophisticated arrangements, carried through by terribly effective musicians. Although we keep their songs in mind, they are already thinking of the next thing.
