THURSDAY LIVE SESSIONS - THE LIMIÑANAS

At its center are a couple of refined explorers: Marie (drums) and Lio (guitars, bass, keyboards, etc.). Enthusiasm was immediate from the start. The excellent HoZac (Black Lips, Jacuzzi Boys) and Trouble In Mind (Jacco Gardner, Fuzz) immediately decided to publish their first recordings soon after the turn of the century. An American tour followed. The “Gossip Girl” series had the good sense to use “Down Underground” in one of its episodes. Jack White invited them to play in his studio and, recently, Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) became typically enthusiastic: “We have to become friends. I want to record with you.” The fruit of this meeting will soon arrive, together with collaboration with Andrew Weatherhall. How can we explain such excitement, such word-of-mouth? It might perhaps be because the Limiñanas’ music happily mixes rock garage, psychedelia, pop and new wave culture all together into a French style. It’s not only fun, but also exciting.
