No one has forgotten the cinematic duo of 1992: Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner in “The Bodyguard.” It is now the musical based on this blockbuster movie that is tumbling from the West End onto the stage of the Salle des Princes in the Grimaldi Forum from June 23 to 26, with the role of pop star Rachel Marron being played by the amazing singer Alexandra Burke, winner of the “New Star” in the UK.
In this story where a former secret service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect a superstar from an unknown stalker, everything was planned, except that they would fall in love with each other…On stage, this romantic thriller is breathtaking, punctuated by a host of hits immortalized by the unforgettable Whitney Houston, including “One Moment in Time,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and, of course, the legendary global sensation, “I Will Always Love You.”
