Even our neighbourhood becomes green...

The certification ECOCERT has just given the Label Green Ecological Space (EVE) to the Monaco Direction of Urban Planning (DAU).

Following an audit realised by ECOCERT, three sectors around the Larvotto area received this label: the Japanese Garden, the Garden of Villa Sauber and a group of gardens located to the right of the Japanese Garden and the Grimaldi Forum and others planted areas situated around the Grimaldi Forum.

Obtaining the Label EVE was made possible through innovative management methods introduced last few years by the Gardens section of DAU .

Management practices affect the implementation of biological control and the use of biological fertilizers, with the abandonment of the use of all chemicals.

A second aspect concerns the politics of water management with the diversification of resources, consumption management, optimization of installations and hydraulic equipment with the renovation of old networks and use of water-saving equipment.

Finally a third part concerns the experimentation and development of cultivation methods and / or materials  less-energy consuming and less-waste producing.
