The Monte Carlo’s Philarmonic has the spirit of sharing
"Make share ", such will be the creed which will guide the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra during the next season 2012-2013. It is the Maestro Gianluigi Gelmetti, named referent leader of the Monaco group after the Yakov Kreizberg’s death last year, who expressed it himself during the press conference of presentation of this new season, in the troparium of the CCAM.
This state of mind was moreover greeted by Mr. Paul Masseron, Government Counsellor for the Interior, who thanked the Chief for his implication, " he whose mission is double: to maintain the artistic level of the Orchestra and to supervise the recruitment process of the future Musical Director, what will take time ".
Several concerts are scheduled in the Grimaldi Forum, including the opening of the season on September 16th, in introduction of the Bicentenary of the Verdi Year. An original multimedia concert, directed by Georges Prêtre and which will marry music and Roman images on October 6th, and an exceptional program on December 2nd under the Kent Nagano’s baguette with Evgueny Kissin at the piano: the "Bolero" and "The Waltz " of Ravel, the "Don Juan" of Richard Strauss, will follow in the Salle des Princes.
Among the novelties of the season, let us indicate a series of concerts of sacred music given in the Cathedral or the Saint Charles Church, concerts of friendship intended for the residents of old people's homes and finally other exceptional appointments as these " Violins of the Hope " which will see "violins leaving their old cases to start again playing for the first time after a painful silence of almost 70 years ". Shlomo Mintz and Cihat Askin will among others participate to make relive these instruments which have belonged to deported Jews. It will be on Sunday, May 5th in the Grimaldi Forum …
