The Divine Comedy, a Dantean performance!

Organized on the October 1 & 2 in the Principality under the aegis of the Italian Embassy in Monaco in collaboration with the COMITES, this musical event inaugurates in a spectacular fashion “The Month of the Italian Language and Culture”.

The Divine Comedy, the first musical show based on Dante Aligheri’ s eponym masterpiece narrates his own love conquest, passing through Hell, the Purgatory, and Heaven. A succession of encounters with mind-blowing characters: the damned and the blissful that are most known in the story and who entered a collective imaginary meet up indeed at the heart of an unforgettable show, rich in projections and choreographies.

The songs, beginning with the genre of rock, express perfectly Hell’s drama while the upsetting melodies of the Purgatory lead us to Heaven’s door, where the symphonic tones bring forth an explosion of colors and lights. In this masterpiece, the partition blends itself with the images inspired by Gustave Doré’ s engravings, while the booklet remains Dante’s original text.

After three years of success in Italy that gathered more than 600 000 spectators, and an ultimate representation in front of  9000 people in the Arena in Verona, this moving show, full of important projections and surprising special effects, is ready to bewitch and touch the public of the entire world, starting with the one of the Salle des Princes in the Grimaldi Forum.
