Summer exhibition about European Royal Houses : ticket office is open...
In this year's princely wedding in the Principality, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco extends the magic and the dream... For the first time the exhibition Magnificence and Grandeur in Europe's Courts will offer to the visitors to meet, from July 11th until September 11th, celebrated royal couples and great imperial, royal and princely figures who have marked history.
A real invitation to travel in time through the 16th to 20th centuries, the original concept of the exhibition is based on the choice of these emblematic figures whose lives, roles and passions marked the history of 21 European courts.
To illustrate this ambitious undertaking, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco and the General Exhibition Curator Catherine Arminjon, General Conservator of Heritage, are collecting together some 600 exceptional works of art belonging to royal and princely collections and also prestigious institutions: portraits, sculptures, decorative objects, furniture, porcelain, gold and silver ware, court costumes and jewellery.
Four centuries of history brought to life through an unprecedented "European Tour" highlighting rulers who bore the names :the Emperor Francis-Joseph and the Empress Elisabeth of Austria; Philip V, king of Spain and Elisabeth Farnese; Napoleon I and Josephine and of course the Grimaldi, princes of Monaco, up to Rainier III and the princess Grace, etc.
Ticket office of the exhibition is already open, with a special rate (8 euro instead of 12), available on www.grimaldiforum.com of directly on site (10 avenue Princesse Grace, phone +377 9999 3000, from tuesday to saturday, 12 am - 7pm)
