Successful take off for the Cai Guo-Qiang's funny "plane"
"Have a Good Trip"... for the monumental work measuring 2,50m of wide and 9m of length made by the Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang. It is moreover the name of this piece created in 2004 from 10 000 objects seized from the Sao Paulo’s airport and placed around a structure in bamboo, rattan, wicker, metal, and plastic.
For the teams of the Grimaldi Forum in charge of the assembly of the Extra Large exhibition (which opens its doors on July 13th), the challenge is considerable: to surround with cables the structure to allow it to remain suspended on the air without damaging anything. For it, two entire days of a real puzzle were needed … But in the end this incredible and surprising work takes a majestic flight!
