Christofle,, a silversmith exhibition!
Inaugurated in présence of M. et Mme Jacques Boisson, Secretary of State, Jean-Claude Riey, President of Grimaldi Forum Monaco, and Sylvie Biancheri, General Manager, near Anne Gros, Chief of Christofle's Museum and Archives, the exhibition "Place des Arts Christofle" is open in the Main Lobby until January 3rd (free entrance).
The exhibition presents more than a hundred and fifty pieces, most of which come from the patrimonial collections of the Christofle firm, dating from 1850 to today: from decorative pieces to table settings to artists’ creations. A unique table service coming from the collections of the Prince’s Palace and pieces created especially for the Society of Sea Bathing (Société des Bains de Mer) illustrate the relationship of the Christofle firm with the Principality of Monaco.
The exhibition proposes discovering Christofle, its production, its history and its craft, by means of three main themes:
The living: the vegetable world, the animal world, man
Abstraction: modernist creation since 1950
The craft
