40 years of graffiti this summertime...
From 21 July to 19 August, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco celebrates 40 years of Pressurism (pressure of spray can and street), an art form recognised as the last pictorial movement of the late 20th century.
This exhibition will provide a first opportunity for the public to discover 400 of the movement's most important artworks.
Three outstanding ensembles will be displayed in Monaco:
- A truly exceptional, indeed undreamed-of, collection of canvases dating from the 1970s and 80s, from Europe and the USA.
- A unique panorama consisting of more than 300 canvases produced by the greatest international artists, as seen by over 80,000 visitors to the Grand Palais in 2009.
- A previously unshown series of works by the great American master Rammellzee who died in 2010, revealing for the first time his influence on Pressurism and on Jean-Michel Basquiat to whom he was a mentor.
