THE LEONARDO DA VINCI'S ATLANTIC CODE

Dream the future

  •   Description

The Atlantic code... One of the most important collections of Leonardo’s tables hides under this name which is kept at the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milan.

More than 1,200 drawings are pasted on the pages of this precious and mysterious album. Thanks to the 15 years work of the passionate expert, Giovanni Piumati, who was appointed by the most famous Italian Academy, the Accademia dei Lincei, this impressive code has finally been integrally transcribed during the late nineteenth century. All drawings and texts (finally understandable) were published on special paper in a limited number of copies targeted to institutions and academic people who could begin, after more than four centuries, to study the thought of one of the greatest protagonists of the Italian Renaissance.

This exhibition, organized by Dante Alighieri and Monaco-Italie associations, presents a significant collection of the Atlantic Code first edition, which has been made available thanks to the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei.

The insights and inventions of Leonardo for sure, will interest a large public motivated both by curiosity and deep desire for knowledge.

This spirit of research had allowed the men to achieve the greatest conquests and to continue to investigate the many secrets still have been waiting for explanation.
